Why this shop

No call center, no upsell script

  • Straight answers. No sales pitch.

You deserve to know what is actually wrong, not what someone wants to sell you. We explain the problem, your options, and whether a repair makes sense for the age and condition of your system. If replacing it is not necessary, we tell you. An honest repair recommendation can save you thousands on a replacement you never needed.

  • One person. One point of contact.

When you call, you get Nate, the owner, not a call center, a salesperson and a rotating lineup of technicians. From the first conversation to the finished job you will not have to repeat yourself or explain your home all over again. One person who knows the problem, knows your system, and takes responsibility for the work.

  • More than just HVAC.

Your home does not have separate problems for separate appointments. When we are already there for an HVAC call, we can often take care of other smaller repairs within our scope during the same visit. Loose railing? Dead outlet? If we can handle it, we save you the hassle of scheduling another appointment.

Honest recommendations. Personal service. Quality workmanship. That is the difference when you work directly with the owner.

Proof of work

Before and after

Same unit, same spot. His photos, nothing staged.

  • Outdoor unit with its coil completely caked in grey lint and dirt
    Before
The same outdoor unit after cleaning, coil fins clean and dark
    After

    Coil packed solid

A season of cottonwood and dust on an outdoor coil. Cleaned in place, so the unit can shed heat again.

  • Outdoor unit with its coil completely caked in grey lint
    Before
The same outdoor unit after cleaning, coil fins clean
    After

    Another summer, another coil

Same unit, same afternoon: the coil breathes again.

  • Outdoor unit on a patio, its coil hidden under a thick grey layer of lint
    Before
The same outdoor unit on the patio an hour later, panels back on and rinsed clean
    After

    Lint to the top

Caked in lint and dust until the fins were invisible. Panels off to clean it, back on an hour later.

  • An old furnace with its front panel removed, exposed wiring, in a stone-walled basement
    Before
New gas furnace installed in the same old stone-walled basement
    After

    A century-old basement, a new furnace

The old unit had its panel off and a nest of wiring behind it. The new furnace sits on the same footprint with new venting and a clean gas drop.

  • An old green furnace between two red steel support posts in a basement
    Before
A new grey furnace installed between the same two red steel posts
    After

Old green furnace, same red posts

A furnace decades old, replaced in the same corner of the same basement with a new flue and gas line.

Recent calls

Three calls, start to finish

What the customer noticed, what was actually wrong, and what it took to put right.

  1. Nate’s recap at the end of the call
    • A new furnace control board held next to the old one inside the furnace cabinet

Old board out, new board in

    • The 1998 furnace with its doors off, burner assembly and wiring visible

      Doors off for testing

No heat, on a furnace from 1998

The thermostat called for heat and nothing happened.

    What was found
Power reached the control board, but the board never sent it on to the igniter. A failed furnace control board, on a furnace old enough that a replacement quote would have been the easy answer.
    What was done
Sourced a replacement board of a newer design, worked out the wiring differences, fitted it, and ran a full call for heat until the igniter glowed and the burners lit.
    How it ended
Heat back the same afternoon, on the furnace they already had.
  2. Where it was clogged, and the new line
What preventative maintenance saves you from
    • The condensate drain outlet on the furnace cabinet, packed solid with orange sludge

      Where it was clogged

    • Nate holding the drain fitting he removed, its opening blocked with the same sludge

      The fitting that came out

    • An indoor evaporator coil with dirt packed between the fins

The coil above it, as found

    Water on the basement floor

Condensation was leaking from inside the unit onto the floor.

    What was found
Two problems on one furnace. The indoor coil was packed with dirt, so the pan filled faster than it could drain, and the condensate line under it had no clean-out and was clogged solid where the fittings met. The pan overflowed into the cabinet and across the floor.
    What was done
Opened the cabinet on camera so the owner could see the coil and the pan, replaced the drain with new three-quarter PVC and a tee with a clean-out port so the line can be checked and cleared before it ever backs up again, and explained what a yearly clean and check would have caught.
    How it ended
A dry floor, a drain the owner can see into, and his point in his own words: preventative maintenance is cheaper than a wet floor.
  3. The call, and finding the fault
The new switch, and the light back on
    • Nate holding the old light switch beside the open metal box on a block wall

      The old switch, out

    • The new switch and outlet under a fresh cover plate on the garage wall

      The new switch and cover

    • The garage from the door, bare bulb lit under the rafters above the garage door opener

      Light on

A garage light with no power

The garage light stopped working, and a new bulb did nothing.

    What was found
Power at the box and power into the switch, but nothing coming out of it with the switch flipped on. A bad switch, not a bad fixture, and not a wiring job.
    What was done
Tested with a non-contact tester before touching anything, pulled the old switch out of the combined switch-and-outlet box on the block wall, fitted a new one and powered back up.
    How it ended
The light came on with the first flip. Nothing else needed, and the owner watched the test that proved it.
